McElhone's Husband dies

Actress Natascha McElhone (36) mourns after the sudden death of her husband, plastic surgeon Martin Kelly (42), who was found slumped on the doorstep of the couple's home on Tuesday night. Presumably he suffered a heart attack.

Dogme #34 - Forbrydelser (full title), In Your Hands (English title)

Story

Anna (Ann Eleonora Jorgensen) is a preacher, who is assigned to work in female prison. There she meets prisoner Kate (Trine Dyrholm), who allegedly can heal people with her hands. Kate was on drugs and left her baby dother alone for few days. After that the baby dother died and Kate was sent to prison as "child killer". In prison she meets the prison guard Henrik (Nicolaj Kopernikus) and soon they develop sympathy for each other.

Anna gets pregnant, but medical test reveals, that baby will probably be handicapped. Anna has to consider abortion, which is against the rules of her religion, or to live with handicapped child. Anna asks Kate to help her with the touch of her hands, but falls out and starts yelling about Kate´s sin. Kate finds herself rejected by prison inmates. She is also rejected by Henrik, who gets blackmailed by another prison guard. She commits suicide.

The messages of the movie are: The drugs are the real killer. The preachers are only humans.

Cast

Trine Dyrholm was born on 15th of April 1972, in Odense, Denmark. She is a singer and an actress. Her music group "Trine Dyrholm & Moonlighters" hit number 3 in Denmark, with their single (and album of same title) "Danse i maneskin". Besides singing she acts in dramas, comedies, family movies etc. She has received several awards, including Best Supporting Actress for "Forbrydelser".

Nicolaj Kopernikus was born on 9th of August 1967, in Glostrup, Denmark. He also uses names "Nicolaj Christiansen", "Nicolaj Christensen" and similar. From 1995 to date he has made amazing filmography, both in TV series and movies.

Highlander 4 - Endgame

Movie is an excellent combination of present and past. In the Dark Age, Connor Macleod´s mother was burned as a witch, and Connor kills Jacob Kell´s father, the preacher. Connor also stabs Jacob Kell himself, making him immortal. After that, Jacob seeks revenge. In centuries he kills 661 other immortals (plus 5 immortals at the "Last Dinner", which makes number 666) and becomes the strongest immortal alive.

Duncan MacLeod also stabs his girlfriend Kate, making her immortal, to stay with her for the eternity. But Kate also turns into revenger, and cooperates with Jacob. In present, Jacob kills Connor´s friend Rachel. Connor checks himself into Sanctuary, where immortals can go to escape the "Game", also ensuring that the "Prize" never falls into wrong hands.

But Jacob Kell and his group find the Sanctuary, and after bitter fight with monks, they kill everyone inside, except Connor, who is now forced into open battle. He lets himself get killed by Duncan, who takes his power and defeats Jacob. Movie ends as "happy love story", re-uniting Duncan and Kate.

In the first "Alien vs. Predator" movie there was fierce battle between "Alien race" and "Predator race" raging in underground pyramid on Antarctica, trapping also a group of humans in the middle of the "hunt". In the second movie there was similar story, but on another location (small town). Alien and a hybrid Alien/Predator attack follows. Many residents were killed and even army intervened.

Most countries demand 14 to 16 years of age for viewing this movie, because of violence and hush language. This problem was "solved" in Vietnam, where the movie was banned.

Oliver Stone served in Vietnam himself and the story was written by him upon his return. The American Film Institute placed Platoon at #86 in their "100 Years...100 Movies" poll. Channel 4 voted "Platoon" as the 6th greatest war movie.
